Each class takes place in a different area of the Van Vleck Gardens (weather permitting), offering new inspiration for discovery. Deepen your connection with nature and yourself in a no-pressure environment.
Creating with Nature: Paper Collage Art
Wednesday, September 23: 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Unwind and let nature spark your creativity. Create beautiful hand-colored papers, then cut, tear and layer them into a one-of-a-kind collage, inspired by the Gardens and the fall season.

Thursday, October 1: 1:30 – 2:30 PM
Create beautiful clay imprints inspired by nature. Press leaves, pinecones and other seasonal treasures gathered from the Garden into clay to capture their beauty. Turn your handmade creation into a one-of-a-kind keepsake ornament or festive decoration!

Celebrate the colors of the season as autumn transforms the Gardens. Create your own hand-colored papers inspired by the fall foliage and textures in nature. Then cut, tear and layer them into a unique collage that captures the beauty of the season.
Creating with Nature: Journal Making
Wednesday, October 14: 6:00-7:00 PM
Slow down and reconnect with yourself through creative memory-keeping. Craft your own rustic journal, then enjoy a guided garden stroll using simple sketch-noting and snippet-journaling to capture the day’s memories and hidden treasures you find.
Creating with Nature: Nature Mosaic
Wednesday, November 4: 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Unplug and make something unexpectedly beautiful. In this hands-on collage class, we’ll be using natural materials from the Gardens, and turn them into your personal masterpiece. Learn about composition, texture, color and layering, while using leaves, petals, moss, bark seed and other found objects. No art experience needed – just curiosity and desire to play and turn found objects into a one-of-a-kind piece of art to treasure.

Wednesday, December 16: 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Capture nature’s beauty in a whole new way. Use leaves, pinecones and other seasonal treasures from the Garden to create stunning prints on wooden tags, transforming them into handmade gift tags or unique ornaments for the holiday season.
